Quality Inspector – Modular construction
Management Team member
Reports to the Operations Manager
Key duties
The Quality Inspector is responsible for implementing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that the modular production adheres closely to company quality standards in our Modular factories. The QCM inspects and quality-checks each part of the modular production process and signs off only when every quality control aspect is complete. The QCM prepares quality reports by collecting data on inspections and all other aspects on the production lines and analyses these in detail. The QCM also works with and adheres to deadlines while delivering outstanding service within the company and provides training in all aspects of Quality Control to team members.
Key Performance Areas
* Setting up and managing all aspects of Quality Control for the modular builds and writing and implementing quality control protocols.
* Documenting the Quality Control procedures, completing the required Quality Forms and signing off on each step of the modular builds and reporting to the Operations Manager
* Capable of understanding architectural drawings, ERs and specifications and working closely with the Design Team.
* Linking design intent through to the factory floor to minimise build errors and to closely monitor the entire process through quality control measures.
* Liaise with Factory management and Team Leaders/supervisors to offer full visibility and advice on modular buildability.
* Gaining an understanding of the client's needs and requirements, communicating through the Design Team to disseminate quality standards to the production teams
* Devising ways to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality products and working with the Design and Production teams
* Devising, improving, and reviewing new quality specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them
* Setting the requirements for raw materials from suppliers and working with the Procurement Manager to monitor compliance
* Supervising inspectors, technicians, and other staff members and providing guidance on quality control matters
* Ensuring legal obligations are followed and ensuring total quality compliance with regulatory bodies such as BOPAS
* Meet regularly with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure health and safety standards and guidelines are met
* Overseeing product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards and reporting on them
* Quality Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products
* Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis and reporting regularly to the factory and management teams
* Gaining feedback from the design and production teams, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors
* Generating the required Quality Control reports for production, management and BOPAS audits
Minimum Qualifications
• 3-5 years proven Quality Control Manager experience
• Previous experience in modular production or manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills
• In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
• Capable of reading Architectural drawings and design specification.
• Excellent knowledge of BOPAS regulations and guidelines.
• Good technical and IT skills.
Experience
* Must have worked in the construction field, preferably modular construction
* Must have a proven track record of excellent quality control management, preferably modular construction
* Must have 3-5 years continuous experience in quality control management at management level and preferably in modular construction
