Maintenance Fabricator Welder

Advantage are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fabricator Welder to join one of our clients based in Keighley, on a permanent basis for the right candidate.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out Sheet metal, Fabrication work and General Maintenance duties.

Main Duties

* Basic Sheet metal work

* Basic Fabrication work

* Mig & Stick welding

* Assist other members of the Maintenance team when required.

* Correct completion of stores request forms and self-allocation of the maintenance request forms.

* Corrective action and improvement techniques

* Encourage the achievements of standards required for quality, housekeeping and health and safety.

* To work in accordance with current Health and Safety regulations

* To be able to attain an acceptable standard of workmanship within a reasonable time scale.

* Correct completion of all documentation relating to the planned maintenance program and procedures, e.g., comment sheets, lubrication sheets etc., whether they are manual or computerized.

* Participate in the training of new members to the department, including apprentice or NVQ training.

* To be able to organize the workload within their respective area.

* To take on additional responsibilities involving assisting your team leader.

* To have a flexible and conscientious approach towards work.

* To participate in a continuous improvement team and to ensure response times on breakdowns are kept to an acceptable level.

Authority:

* To stop a process / machine if deemed unfit for use and to report this to the departmental Manager.

Qualifications:

* GCSE or equivalent.

* City & Guilds certificate or equivalent training / hands on experience

Knowledge and Skills:

* A valid Forklift Truck license would be advantageous.

* Experience in Brazing & welding using oxygen & acetylene would be beneficial

* Ability to read and understand product drawings.

* Experience of using measuring equipment.

* Interpersonal, good communication skills at all levels

* Ability to work within a team environment.

* Ability to work under pressure and to use initiative.

* Be prepared at all times to learn new skills when required.

* Must have industrial plant experience and machine tools experience.

Rate of pay & hours

Hourly pay of £14.61 per hour plus overtime at an enhanced rate

Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30/ Friday 07:30 – 12:30
