Advantage are currently recruiting for Operative for one of our clients, a sheet metal contractor, based in the Maidenhead area.
The role is Temporary with a view of going permanent after 12 weeks, for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be a hardworking individual with a good eye for detail to join their 2nd Ops team. The Operatives will be drilling, tapping, countersinking, de-burring, saw cutting and for the right candidate can lead to progression within brake press work and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
* Perform the operations such as tapping, countersinking, grinding etc. as required from the details on the drawing.
* Assess your own work and query anything you are unsure on to maintain the highest standards.
* Liaise with the fabricators/foreman to support production when no specific 2nd ops jobs from your workflow are ready.
* Tidy up after yourself to maintain a clean and efficient working environment.
The candidate:
* Experienced with grinders and belt sanders.
* Experienced with pillar, power and radial drills for drilling/tapping/countersinking.
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent attitude towards work quality/standards.
* Hard-working and trustworthy.
* Knowledge of stainless steel specific work is desirable but not essential.
The client is flexible on working hours, however must be able to work a 40 hour shift across Monday to Friday
Overtime will be paid at time and one half after 40 hours per week.
They also offer candidates an opportunity to develop themselves with support from Management.
Hourly rate
£12.50 to £15.00 per hour, which is negotiable for the right candidate, based on experience
